It’s been a while…

I haven’t posted in a while as I am finding focusing on recovery enough to cope with at the moment!

But I have good news!  Things are finally getting better!  I have turned a corner, I am finding eating less scary, I am less anxious about gaining weight, I am feeling physically and mentally stronger.

It is a long, slow process, but after being in hospital for 100 days things are looking up!  I am still under section, but hopefully that will be lifted soon.

After being NG fed for a while I gradually transitioned to drinking Fortisip, and then added food in – I am now on my sixth day without Fortisip and am almost completing all my meals.

It’s still going to be a while before I am ready to go home, but I am feeling proud of myself for managing to turn things around.  My motivation to recover varies but generally I feel much more positive about the future.

  1. Yay, what a great post! I’m so happy for you and find it inspiring for me. I always fear they are going to discharge me too soon and I’ll end up relapsing again. It’s so hard to trust that they know what they are doing. Thank you for posting this. It was a great thing to read as I start my 4th day!

      1. Difficult. I started with eating food and it’s just freaking torture. I wish I could say it was going well. Everyone is very supportive. It would be great (although still hard) if food wasn’t involved. Wish I could be more positive but I just had breakfast which generally puts me in a mood.

  2. WOO! I’ve been waiting to hear from you! Very good news – and very proud. Small steps are actually the biggest ones in the long run.

No need to do a big jump just yet, but small, progressive, and strong steps all add up in the end to a grand moment for you, and your recovery.

    Big hugs

  3. Fantastic. Your positive but measured mentality is a good one, I think — I mean, some days will be harder than others, but you’re quite the mountain climber on any.
